Winsor & Newton Artisan Water-Mixable Painting Medium

Winsor & Newton has its own range of water-soluble mediums specifically for use with Artisan Water-Mixable Oils. Specially formulated mediums ensure that traditional oil painting techniques can be achieved without using solvents such as turpentine or mineral spirits. This slow drying medium reduces consistency, increases luminosity flexibility of Artisan Oil Colour. It is ideal for oiling out; enriching dull patches. Resists yellowing. Can be cleaned up with water. Can be thinned with Artisan thinner. Conventional oil mediums can be mixed with Artisan but negate the water-soluble quality of Artisan, simply making it an oil paint. At this point, use of Artisan water-soluble mediums is not recommended for use with traditional oils.
