Golden Open Acrylic - 8oz

OPEN Acrylics are slow-drying with a slightly softer consistency than Heavy Body paints. The increased working time allows for more traditional techniques once only possible with oils, and some printmaking techniques. Working time varies according to how thickly the material is applied. It's recommended that artists use OPEN Colors thinly (< 1 mm paint film). Thin applications "tack up", allowing additional layers to be applied. Thicker applications may be worked for hours. Because of the slow drying nature of these paints, it is recommended that work be left to dry for 30 days or longer before varnishing. Compatible with all GOLDEN products. To maintain the maximum working time, use OPEN Mediums and Thinner. Drying time can also be accelerated by mixing OPEN with faster-drying acrylics like Golden Fluid and Heavy Body colors. Because OPEN Acrylics dry slowly, covering your palette and using sealed allows you use the same colors for much longer than regular acrylic, reducing the amount of paint wasted and preserving color mixtures for future use.
