Curry's Policies

Cookies
Cookies must be enabled
in order to place an order on currys.com and to take full advantage of Curry's website and all of its features (ie. shopping carts and language preferences). Cookies are necessary for the operation of shopping carts on almost any e-commerce website.  A shopping cart must be able to recognize you (using cookies) in order to add your items and associate these items with your order.

What is a "Cookie"?
A browser cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web server to a web browser to be stored for future use. The data in the browser cookie will be sent back to the web server whenever the browser reconnects to the web site.

Cookies are commonly used to store user preference information such as language preference. Cookies are also used to store shopping cart contents. The most security-relevant use of browser cookies is when they are used to store authentication data, such as user names and passwords.

Cookies do not collect any personal information. Cookies can provide customers a richer, more personalized experience on our site. They can also allow a more customized shopping experience. You may choose to decline cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may affect your use of the site and your ability to access certain features or engage in transactions through the website.

Customer Privacy Policy
Curry’s recognizes its obligations under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). As such, the storage of personal information collected from our customers is kept secure. Curry’s never discloses personal information regarding customers without the consent of the person involved, unless we required to for a police investigation or emergency. Furthermore, Curry’s considers recklessly or negligently exposing personal customer to be grounds for employee disciplinary action or dismissal.

Curry’s knows how important it is to protect your personal information. We do not share or sell customer data with third parties. Customer information is used for internal purposes, and only for the specific service for which the information was provided (ie. email sign up list, placing an order with Curry’s, etc).

We do not sell or share our customer email list with third parties. A certified service provider sends promotional emails on our behalf, but they too do not share our email list. Curry's does not spam. Emails are sent only to customers who have given Curry's express consent by actively subscribing to our email list. Every commercial email sent includes a link to easily unsubscribe.

Security Statement
Curry’s takes careful precaution to protect our web users’ information by using the most current and up to date internet security measures available.

When our online order form asks you to enter sensitive information, such as a credit card number, that information is encrypted and is protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). This Web protocol encrypts all personal information, including your name and credit card number, so that this information cannot be read as it travels through the Internet. Curry’s uses VeriSign, the industry leader, as its security verification service. Click on the VeriSign Secured icon at the bottom of every page to verify our security certificate.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect customer information off line. All of our customer information is restricted only to employees who require the information to carry out their specific duties. Also, the computer servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Sales Tax
All product prices quoted on our site are in Canadian dollars and do not include any applicable taxes. Our shipping costs are also based on the price before tax is added.

Sales tax for orders is based on the applicable combined federal and provincial sales tax rate. This will be applied according to the province indicated in the Ship-To Address.

Product Backorders and Stock Outs
Please note that backordered items are currently being cancelled. We encourage you to re-order any out of stock items at a later date.

Payment Methods
We accept VISA and MasterCard credit cards. At this time, we are unable to accept Visa Debit cards, American Express credit cards, or prepaid credit cards as a method of payment. No C.O.D. shipments. If you wish to order or redeem gift certificates, or to make a payment with a money order please call our Customer Service Department toll free 1-800-268-2969.

Damaged Products
Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery if possible. If there is obvious product damage in the package we recommend you refuse to accept the shipment. Call customer service immediately to notify of damaged product, and if applicable to request a replacement or return.

Online Order Return Policy
Your Satisfaction Means Everything To Us!
Our goal is to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your Curry’s purchase. Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt, and contact Curry's customer service group if:
  • There is noticeable damage to the product.
  • The product(s) shipped to you have been sent in error.
Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase (date as appears on your invoice), provided the returned product is unused and in saleable condition. We will gladly refund your original shipping cost if you are returning an item because of an error on our part, or it has been determined that the product is defective or arrived damaged.

If the package appears damaged when it arrives, we recommend that you inspect the package before you sign for it. If there is obvious damage from shipping we recommend you refuse the shipment.

If product was ordered in error by the customer:
  • The customer is responsible for shipping charges on the return.
  • A 15% restocking fee will be charged if applicable.
  • Please call for details.
The same credit card used to make the purchase will be credited with the refund. The credit will be made within 7-10 business days of us receiving and verifying the returned merchandise.

Refund/Return Exceptions:
  • No refunds or exchanges on Special Order Items, Bulk Orders, Cut/Rolled Stock (canvas, paper, film), Clearance items.
  • Curry’s Gift Cards are not returnable and non-refundable.
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable. (We will gladly refund your original shipping cost if you are returning an item because of an error on our part, or it has been determined that the product is defective or damaged.)

Store Return Policy
Your Satisfaction Means Everything To Us!
Please keep your receipt in case you aren’t happy with your purchase. Refunds will be given within 30 days of purchase when receipt is provided. Items for return must be unused in clean, original packaging. We regret some items are final sale or exchange only. Please see the list below.

Refunds: These will be made in the form of original payment. The exception will be debit refunds over $500 which will be issued in the form of a cheque mailed from Curry’s Head Office.

Exchanges: Product being returned without a receipt may be exchanged for product or a Curry’s gift card.

There are some products not featured online that are available only in our retail stores including the following

  • Most frames and framing related services
  • Items sold in singles: Conté, foam board, illustration boards, some watercolour papers*
    (*most watercolour papers are available online in packages or minimum quantities)
  • Clays and other modeling materials such as soapstone
  • Drafting table and supplies

Please call or visit the Curry’s store nearest you to inquire about availability and in-store promotions.

What is your "Sold To" (Billing) Address?
For your protection and for security reasons we need to verify the billing address of the credit card you provide at the time of purchase. We compare the billing address you provide with the address your bank has on file for that particular card. In other words, your billing address needs to be the same as the address found on your credit card statements (regardless of whether you receive statements in the mail or via internet). We will invoice you at your billing address, and will ship your package to the shipping address you provide, if it is different.

If a Curry’s Customer Service Representative contacts you to clarify your billing address, it is because we are having trouble with the verification of your card. We take this measure to protect your security.

What is your “Ship To” Address?
The "Ship To” address is the address of the location to which you would like your package delivered. It could be your home address, the address of a neighbour, friend/family member, or a place of business.
