Traditionally, when artists desired a flat or matte finish for an oil painting, wax was used. Today, artists still use the wax method. When combining wax with any one of a variety of varnishes or oils a flat or matte finish is achieved. The completed work of art may afterwards be polished with a soft cloth or brush. Beeswax is also ideal for mixing with paraffin wax when doing batik work.
Ordering bulk quantities often results in "overweight" shipping charges in excess of the flat rate. A customer service representative will contact you for authorization of additional fees.
